How do I get started?

We recommend getting starting with the group training and joining a team in your age group. For younger participants, 6 or younger we recommend to start with one term of skills sessions to build up confidence and hand to eye co-ordination.

Training options

If you join a team, you will have a seperate team training session, focused more on aspects of playing as a team with your group. The group training is more individual skill focused, with some team play, however in differnet groups. As an added bonus if you live close to the Campsie area, attending our free sessions on Tuesday mornings at 8am may be an option for you.

Why Basketball

  • Learn to play as a team (not individual) - these are life skills
  • Make new friends in your team
  • Competitions are played indoors, weather does not matter - we have an under the roof option to train when needed at CPS also
  • Basketball is a non contact sport
  • Lots of running - to play well you need to get fit
  • Learning about team sports opens up the possibility of other team sports (once you understand the team dynamic, you can take on other team endeavours)
